Walter Terry Moon

Mr. Walter Terry Moon, 48, a native of Savannah, GA, had his transition Wednesday, February 18, 2009 under the excellent and professional care of Hospice Savannah, Inc. in Savannah, GA, surrounded by his loving and devoted family.

He was the youngest of four siblings was born on June 17, 1960 in Savannah, Georgia to the late James Moon, Jr., and Bridie Futch Moon. Bridie preceded him in death just two weeks prior to his death. His brother, James Madison Moon iii, also preceded him in death.

""Moon"", as he was affectionately called, was a free-spirited individual who lived life to the fullest. He joined First Bryan Baptist Church as a young child. He attended the public schools of Chatham County, Georgia. Moon was an employee of several companies, including Wal-Mart, until he was no longer able to work, forcing him to become disabled.

Survivors: children: Calvin (Tanisha) Thompson, Walter Moon, Jr., James Moon, all of Savannah, GA, and Corey Moon of Pooler, GA; sisters, Brenda Washington of Midway, GA, and Cheryl (Dexter) Heard of Pooler, GA; grands: Asharie Moon, Dontae Polite, Kaylin Thompson and Chanoah Thompson, all of Savannah, GA; aunts: Lee Frances Jenkins of Savannah, GA and Jane Moon of Reno, NV; uncle, Willie Moon of Reno, NV; four nieces, Yolanda Howard of Pooler, GA, Angela (Larry) Wall of Savannah, GA, Sean Moon of Lawrenceville, GA and James Garner of West Point, GA; twenty-one grand nieces, and nephews: Vernon, Jr.l Antonio, Jamal, Briana, Diontre, Jacquez, Alaris, Mikhail, Shane, Arcelia, Jay, Sean, Jr., Jaiden, Jasmine, Keaon, Kendra, Kendrick, Jaquavious, Jordan, Coury, Jalonie and Desiree'; best friend, Melvin White; a host of cousinss, other relatives and devoted friends.

Funeral service: 11:00am, Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Adams Funeral Services, Inc. Chapel, 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA, Rev. Edward L. Ellis, Jr., Presenting, Pastor of First Bryan Missionary Baptist Church and Pastor Kenny Grant, Eulogist. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, Savannah, GA.

Funeral service: 11:00am Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Adams Funeral Services, Inc Chapel, 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA. Mr. Moon will lie in state saturday at the funeral home from 9:00am until hour of service. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery.
