Tyrone ""TY"" Artis

Mr. Tyrone ""TY"" Artis, 51, of Courageous Ct., Salem, beloved husband of Linda E. Gustafson, had his transition Friday, July 24, 2009 at Salem hospital, with his wife at his bed side.

A native of Chicago, IL, he was the son of Joseph and Nancy (Bruin) Artis of Milwaukee, WI. He was raised and educated in Milwaukee and Savannah, GA. Tyrone continued his education in Arundell, England having studied Business and Finance.

Tyrone had been employed in the financial industry with Merryl Lynch and mor recently he pursued his love of helping people as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Shaugnessy Kaplin Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem.

He had been a resident of the City of Salem for over twenty years; he had a true love of the Boston Red Sox. Tyrone had an innate way of connecting with people; he would always leave them with a smile on his face and he will be profoundly missed.

In addition to his loving wife and parents, tyrone is survived by his sisters: Gwen Goggins of Maryland and Joanne Harley of Milwaukee, WI; brothers: David Artis of San Diego, CA, Donald Artis and Jonfda Artis, both of Milwaukee, WI; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral service: Monday, August 3, 2009 at Adams Funeral Services, Inc Chapel, 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA 31405. Viewing: Sunday, August 2, 2009 from 12:00 noon to 7:00pm and Monday, August 3, 2009 from 9:00am until hour of service, both at Adams Funeral Services, Inc., Chapel. Interment: Buck Island Cemetery, Bluffton, South Carolina.
