Saint Rachel Bell

Adams announces the passing of Saint Rachel M. Bell, 101, who transitioned on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Rachel Bell was born November 24 , 1918 , to the late Joe and Lillie Bell Simmons. She was the 6th child of that union. Rachel loved school but stopped in the 3rd grade to help out in the home . Rachel met and married Raymond Artis Sr. From this union two children were born , Raymond Jr. and Betty . Rachel was creative and started making her own clothes . After marrying her second husband Otis Bell , Rachel became a seamstress. They owned and managed many cleaners in Brooklyn N.Y. and Savannah Ga. Rachel attended The United House Of Prayer For All People, where she became a Queen at the tender age of fifteen years old . Rachel was an active member of the Queen Board until her transition Home. Rachel loved to sit in the front seat in church, to really enjoy the bands . Rachel worked at Tideland for twelve years . Rachel lived along and prosperous life. Preceding her in death was her mother and father Joe and Lillie Bell Simmons , all her brothers and sisters Georgia, Eland ,Theresa, Richard, Clifford , Joe Jr., her husband Otis Bell , her son Raymond Jr., and her great grandson Tashawn  Qualls precedded her in death. She leave to cherish her memories; her one and only daughter Betty Artis Smith, adopted son Thomas ( Tonya ). Seven grandchildren ,Leslie ( Michael ) Fort Worth Tx. , Gregory ( Mary ) Dothan Al. , Gwendolyn ( Kevin ) Wilkes Barre Pa. , Charles ( Angie ) , Marcus ( Teresa ) Rahway N.J. , Sean ( Rosa ) Hayward Ca. , Christopher ( Crystal ) Edison N.J. 14 Great Grands, 20 Great Great Grands , 5 Great Great Great Grands . 2 Special Sister In Laws Carrie and Doll , and a Host of Neices and Nephews and Cousins.

Adams announces funeral services for Saint Rachel M. Bell which will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 8, 2020 at United House of Prayer for All People located 1805 Ogeechee Rd.

Viewing: Friday, 10 A.M.-6 P.M. at the funeral home.

Interment: Woodville Cemetery.
