Saint Gladys Walton-Bland life began on January 30, 1924 in Savannah, Ga., to the late Elder Solomon Walton and Eva Walton. She was educated in the Chatham County School System and was employed by the Chatham County Board of Education for over 30 years. St. Bland was a faithful and lifetime member of the United House of Prayer (Tatemville). She served as General Secretary for and received recognition yearly for maintaining perfect financial records. She served on the Usher Board, Voices of Hope and the Willing Workers. On February 22, 2010, Gladys Bland was called from labor to reward. She will be missed dearly. She leaves precious memories to be cherished by a loving son; Mr. Ronald Dunn, Sr., Five caring and loving sisters; St. Georgia Maynard, Marian Speed, Florence (John) Nixon all of Savannah, Ga., Ruth (Casey) Shannon of Richmond, Va., and Sarah Mardre of New York, New York. 12 loving and devoted grandchildren, 29 great grand children and 2 great great grand children. Almisha (Thomas) Mattox of Savannah, Ga., Lillian Jones and Robert Dorsey of Zellwood, Fl., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
