Adams announces the passing of Reverend Harold Baker, 90, who transitioned on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at his residence.

Adams announces the funeral service of Reverend Harold Baker which will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Connor's Temple Church Outdoor Stage.

Viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 5, 2021 at First African Baptist Church of East Savannah then from 3:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., Friday at Second Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Interment: East Savannah Cemetery with Military and Masonic Rites.

Rev. Harold Earl Baker, 90, passed away at home on February 28, 2021.  He was a retired Pastor Emeritus of Second Ebenezer Baptist Church in Hitch Village.

A life-long resident of Savannah, Rev. Baker matriculated in Chatham County schools, graduating from Alfred E. Beach High.  He was a veteran of the Korean War, a retired postal carrier, and Director of OIC.  His greatest love was the ministry.  A son of First African Baptist of East Savannah, he later served as Pastor of Beth Eden Baptist and Second Ebenezer where he pastored for 35 years.  Rev. Baker was also a past president of New Era State Convention of Georgia, Inc.

Rev. Baker was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, his daughter Melissa Baker Boone, his son Lorenza Baker Sr., his parents Dea. Ben Baker and Mamie Mitchell Baker, two brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are three loving grandsons, Sean Baker (Savannah), Harold Baker (Elizabeth, New Jersey), and Lorenza Baker Jr. (Savannah), grands, great-grands and a host of other family and friends.

The family is asking to keep the number of cars

to a minimum by car-pooling it would be much appreciated.
