Adams announces funeral services for Ms. Nancy Christopher Taylor-Johnson which will be held 12:00 P.M., Saturday, January 18, 2020 at First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church located 310 Alice St.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 P.M.-8 P.M., Friday at Beulah Baptist Church located 619 E. Anderson St.
Interment: Drayton Cemetery, Hilton Head SC.
Nancy Taylor Johnson (82) entered into Heaven’s pearly gates on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
Nancy Taylor Johnson was born on February 22,1937 in Hilton Head, SC. She was one of 13 children born from the union of the late Samuel and Geneva Christopher. Nancy was raised in Hilton Head until she moved to Savannah, Ga where she graduated from A.E. Beach High School in 1956. SHe was joined in holy matrimony to Herman Taylor on January 1, 1968 in Ridgeland, SC.She worked for Savannah Chatham County Public School nutrition department for over 30 years.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a long time member of Beulah Baptist Church was she served as church secretary, Sunday School teacher. She also served in the senior choir and director of the youth department.
Nancy loved sewing, cooking and baking; especially her cinnamon rolls for her family and her Beulah church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Geneva Christopher, her brother Samuel Christopher Jr., her sisters Dorothy Murray, Mamie Murray, Maude Jones, Hattie Green, Henrietta Walker and Louise Anderson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Shirley (James) Lucas, 3 sisters: Sylvia Christopher (New York), Georgia Green and Naoma (Horace) Parker, 3 brothers: John Henry (Veronica) Christopher, Murray (Geneva) Christopher and Charles (Lillian) Mitchell, 4 grands: Shawn (Candace) Christopher, Kimisha (Casey) Semien, Tyree Lucas, Jamal Lucas, & Tonia (Angie) Whitehead, 8 great grands, her aunt Rebecca Martin and her uncle Isaac Blake, 3 special nieces: Kay Christopher, Yvonne Evans, and Ophelia Mickell her special daughter Rosalyn Taylor, her special son Herman Taylor Jr. and a host of many loving relatives and special friends.
