Born December 21, 1929, and entered into eternal rest January 28, 2022
Helen passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital at the beautiful age of 92.
Helen worked at the Holiday Inn for 16 years and as a domestic worker for various families in Savannah, all while caring for her family and grandchildren.
She was born to Mr. Sam “Uncle Doc” Morris and Mrs. Lorine “Aunt Sing” Rhames in December of 1929. She later married and had two beautiful daughters Ruth J. (White) Coles and Joyce P. (Hayes) Brown.
She was a devoted Catholic and attend church every Sunday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Savannah, GA. She loved to prepare meals for her family, watch her British comedy shows, eat her favorite candy (Reese’s peanut butter cups), take care of her plants. She had a wonderful green thumb. Spending time with her family was always important to her. She believed that family should always stick together.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Sam Morris and Lorine Rhames, her brother, John Morris, husbands, James White Sr. and Charles Hayes, extended family, Julius White Sr., Justin White, and Son-in-law Reginald Coles I.
Helen is survived by her daughters Ruth (White) Coles and Joyce (Hayes) Brown, extended family, James White Jr., Lester Leck White, Kathleen (White) Scott, Son-in-law, Nathaniel Brown, Atoya Phoenix(Grandaughter-in-love), and Jerome Williams(Loyal friend to the family).
Grandchildren: Tina (Coles) Guyden and Rollin Guyden(spouse), Tara Coles, Reginald Coles II, and Jenae Brown: extended family, Cepeda Scott and Mable Lynn (Williams) Scott (spouse), Orlando Scott and Tonya (Wesley)Scott (spouse), Sarah (Scott)Miley, and Terrell Miley(spouse), James Scott, and Octavius Scott
Great-grandchildren: aShante’ Coles, Michael Daniels, Langston Guyden, JaLynn Young, Reginald Coles III, Adam Guyden, Caris Guyden, Lela Guyden, Dominic Coles, Kenya Phoenix, Raine Savage, great-great-grandchild, Julien Tabora-Guyden, and a host of friends and family.
