Evelyn Kirkland, “Ebb” as she was called by all who knew her well, was a native of Savannah, Georgia. She was born May 20, 1945. Evelyn was educated in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System and was a graduate of Alfred Ely Beach High School. On Friday, January 18, 2019 God called her home to rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Viola Becton and Richard Williams and Mabel Bell, one daughter Sara Lynn James, one sister, Kay F. Williams, and two brothers Eugene and Charles Williams.
To celebrate and cherish her life she leaves two sons Bernard (Carol) Kirkland of Savannah, Troy (Vanessa) Kirkland of Douglasville, GA; two daughters Pamela and Rosalyn Kirkland of Savannah; Seventeen grandchildren, 13 great-grands, three sisters, Beverly Boggs, Janice Williams, Michelle (Tyrone) Daughtry, one sister in law Linda Blake-Williams; one brother Leon Williams, three aunts Alfredia (Charles) Coxon, Rhettea Murray, Johnnie Mae Pugh, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of Second African Baptist Church.
