Ms. Adell English Edwards, age 78, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Mr. James Edwards. The daughter of the late Mr. Earnest English and Mrs. Jennie B. Hartley was born in Uriah, Alabama on January 20, 1944. She was educated in the Monroe County public school district in Monroeville, Alabama. Adell was a devoted member of Fairlawn Baptist Church in Garden City, Georgia. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her daughters and grandson and watching sports. Adell will forever be remembered by her sweet spirit, kindness and sense of humor.
Ms. Adell Edwards is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. James Edwards; her Father Mr. Earnest English; her mother Mrs. Jennie B. Hartley; her step-mother Mrs. Grace T. English; three brothers, Mr. Robert Lewis Hartley; Mr. James Roosevelt Hartley; Mr. Jimmy Lee Hartley; and two sisters; Ms. Audrey Ella Hartley and Mrs. Sandra Maria Miller. Her memory will forever be treasured by her two daughters; Ms. Sheila Fredell Bailey of Savannah, Ga; Ms. Maecher Maria Bailey of Fairburn, Ga; her grandson; Mr. Austin Drew Farley of Fairburn, Ga; her step-son, Mr. Artemus S. Edwards of Ridgeland, SC; her five sisters Ms. Minnie E. Hartley of Syracuse, NY; Mrs. Ella Faye Nero (Norman); Ms. Leatha Marie Hartley; Ms. Barbara Jean Hartley and Ms. Priscilla Elaine Garror all of Atmore, Alabama; a god-son, Mr. Randall Marquise Hamilton of Savannah, GA and a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, special friends and neighbors.
