Ms. Ruth Wideman

Ms. Ruth Wideman, 74, had her transition on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Candler General Hospital.

Visitation with the family will be held 5pm-6pm, Saturday October 26, 2013 in the Chapel of Adams Funeral Services.

Funeral services will be held 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at St. Luke Episcopal Church German Town in Philadelphia, PA.

FAMILY OBITUARY:

Ruth Deloris Wideman, 74, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013, in Savannah, Georgia. Ruth was a native of Philadelphia and educated in public school system. She retired from the City of Philadelphia after 37 years of dedicated service at the Free Library of Philadelphia, Central Branch. She gave tireless hours of service attending and caring for elderly friends and family members. Even more so, Ruth and her sister Dorothy became surrogate mothers for all of their nieces and nephews.


Preceding her in death were her parents Juanita and Miller Wideman of Philadelphia; her sisters Bernice Morris, Betty Wideman and Gloria Dorsey of Philadelphia; her niece Linda Dorsey of Philadelphia; and her nephews Steven Dorsey and Wayne Dorsey of Philadelphia.

Survivors include Deborah Muri and Nanette Wideman of Philadelphia; Angela Dorsey of Savannah, Georgia and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.

Family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Terry Funeral Home, 4203 Haverford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Homegoing service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at St. Luke Episcopal Church of Germantown, 5421 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144.
