Ms. Paula Renee Williams Snooks, a beloved, sister, mother, aunt, and friend, passed away on October 20, 2024 at the age of 62 in Marietta, Georgia. Born on March 3, 1962, in Savannah, Georgia, she left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her.
Paula a proud graduate of Thee Herschel V. Jenkins High School, where she not only excelled academically but also shared her talents as a member of the band, delighting audiences with her clarinet skills, and participated in the inaugural Jenkins Drill Team. Her intelligence and wit were as vibrant as her smile, and she was known to weave humor seamlessly into everyday life. Moreover, Paula's deep faith was a guiding light, as she was always ready with a Bible verse for any occasion, epitomizing her love for the Lord and cherishing fellowship each day.
With a successful career as a Licensed Optician in the Atlanta Area, Paula was dedicated not just to her work, but to uplifting those around her. She brought joy and clarity to many, reflecting her larger-than-life spirit. In addition to her professional life, Paula had a fierce passion for sports, particularly her beloved Atlanta Falcons, representing her vibrant personality.
Paula's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her loving mother, Betty Mae Griffin Williams; her brothers, Charles Alvin Westbrook and Teddy Mitchell; her cherished son, Joshua Jarel Snooks; her aunts, Betty C. Griffin Johnson of Philadelphia; Mrs. Lovenia Griffin and her husband Bob Kennedy from Savannah, as well as Mrs. Vivian G. Roundtree also of Savannah. Additionally, Paula is remembered fondly by her niece Ms. Bridget Williams of Kennesaw, Georgia, and her nephews Charles Alvin Westbrook Jr, of Cleveland, Ohio, Kevin and Christopher Westbrook and Mr. Andre and Latoya Murray of Savannah. Special thank you to the Snooks family of Savannah, Ga. She also leaves behind grandnieces Baleigh and Brielle Williams, along with a host of other family members and friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Paula was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Williams Jones, and her grandmother, Rosella Griffin, both of whom she cherished deeply. Their love and guidance shaped the incredible woman she became.
Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects during the viewing on October 31, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Adams Funeral Services in Savannah, Georgia. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held the following day, November 1, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Philip A.M.E. Church "On the Boulevard" 615 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, in Savannah, Georgia.
As we remember Ms. Paula Renee Williams Snooks, we celebrate not only her achievements and love for life but also the profound impact she has left on all those fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived and a love that will never fade.
