Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Thelma Bryant Bright, 86, who transitioned on Friday, January 24, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Adams announces funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Bryant Bright which will be held 12:00 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Second Arnold Baptist Church located 1427 East 37th St.

Interment: Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.

Viewing for the public will be held from

10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thelma Bryant Bright, affectionately known as “(Mickey)” entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 24, 2020 at St. Joseph/Candler Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Thelma Bright was born May 11, 1933 to the late Mr. Oliver and Mrs. Edwina Bryant in Savannah, Georgia.  She attended the public schools of Chatham County.  She was a faithful member of Fairmount Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess and sung in the Herbert Harris Choir until her health failed.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She resided in the Tatemville neighborhood, for over 69 years. She enjoyed nurturing her entire family and the community with love and delicious home-cooked meals.  She will be missed by many. She leaves to cherish the memories and mourn her  transition, her loving, devoted husband of 69` years, Mr. Harry  Bright Sr., of Savannah GA, three daughters, Ms. Betty A. Bright-Polite, Ms. Deborah Bright-Johnson, and Ms. Dannette Bright-Johnson, all of Savannah GA, Eight Sons, Mr. Harry Bright Jr.(Marvene), Mr. Anthony M. Bright, Mr. Kenneth Bright, Mr. Alfred J. Bright(Vanessa) of Lithonia GA, Mr. Eric Bright(Angela), Mr. John C. Bright, all of Savannah, GA, Dr. Jeffery Bright of Hampton, GA, Mr. Antonio C. Bright (Yolanda), of Pooler, GA, One Son Everett C. Bright, whom preceded her in death, Her parents, the late Mr. Oliver and Mrs. Edwina Bryant, whom also preceded her in death. Two brothers whom preceded her in death, the late Mr. Edward Lee Bryant and the late Mr. Willie James Bryant, three sisters, Mrs. Doris B. Luten, Ms. Mildred Tolbert, Ms. Lillie Mae McCombs, all of Savannah, GA. One brother, Oliver B. Bryant of Savannah, GA. One uncle, Mr. Herbert Bryant, of Okeephopee, FL, Eight Sister- In-Laws, Mildred B. Laurel of Cambridge Heights, NY, Edna Baker of Annandale,  VA,  Jessie Laurel  of Chesapeake, VA, Irma Baker of Charlotte NC,  Jestine Bryant of Savannah, GA, Eva Vinson(Al) Washington Township, NJ,  Janie Baker of Hardeeville, SC, and Joan B. Gadson of Ridgeland, SC, Two Brother-In-Laws, Samuel D. Baker of Ridgeland SC, and Larry Baker of San Diego, CA, 27 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren,  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, Fairmount Baptist Church Family, and friends.
