Perry Lee Rawls Bruin was born on November 29, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Frank Rawls and Rosa Mae Lowery Rawls of Bulloch County. Growing up, she attended schools in Bulloch County Public School System. As Perry grew into here adult years, she made Savanah, Georgia her new home. She developed a strong work ethic at a young age taking on various types of jobs and later retired from Allied’s Department Store as Supervisor. Perry accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life. She was a member and President of the Usher board of First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church (Rev. Alfred Mitchell), where she served faithfully until her health started to decline. On August 3, 2020, the Lord touched his daughter and called her home to rest. Perry was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who left an impact on everyone she encountered. Perry leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband, Wilson Bruin; children, Ewania Carswell (Zeddie), Barbara Rawls, Reginald Rawls (Bernice), and Chrystal Bruin; all of Savannah, Georgia. Two loving sisters, Marie Smokes (Ellie Jr.) of Ellabell, Ga. and Mae King (Ronald), of Savannah, Ga. Her Sister in Law Nancy Bruin Hilton Head, SC. and best friend Betty Thompson of Savannah, Ga. Perry also leaves behind six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones.
