Pearl Lorraine Snowden Reid, 76, a retired educator with a warm warrior spirit, passed away at home in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 23, 2021. She was born on January 17, 1945, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Roosevelt and Pearl Leona Jones Snowden. In Heaven, she is rewarded in peace and reunited with her beloved son Clarence Anthony (Tony) Snowden.
Left to cherish her memory are an adoring husband of 57 years, Arris Reid Jr., and two devoted children, Arris Reid III and Kenya Leona Reid, of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, David James Snowden of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Gwendolyn Ietta Snowden Miller and Veronica Delores Snowden-Heyward (Robert), of Savannah, Georgia; four sisters-in-law, Alice Gilchrist of Detroit, Michigan, Edsel Robertson of Savannah, Georgia, Adrine Trotter of Detroit, Michigan, and Trenna Stokes of Wyandanch, New York; a special niece, LaTonya Heyward Bethea (Otis Jr.), a special grandniece, Tara Montana Bethea, and a special grandnephew, Caleb Lee Bethea, of Atlanta, Georgia; three childhood-to-adulthood friends, Betty Days, Janet Norris-Burnett and Fannie Smalls; a goddaughter, Tonia Larraine Cain of Savannah, Georgia; and a host of loving, thoughtful cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, students and colleagues.
Adams announces the Entombment services of Mrs. Pearl "Lorraine" Reid which will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 5, 2021 at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
