Mrs. Pearl Pinckney

July 27, 1926 — January 22, 2021

Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Pearl Mack Pinckney, 94, who transitioned on Friday, January 22, 2021 at her residence.

Pearl Mack was born on July 27, 1926 to Paul Mack and Maybell Haynes Mack in Buckingham, South Carolina.  Her education was through the Buckingham School System.  Upon completion of her education, she relocated to Savannah, Georgia to live with her Aunt who was known to everyone as Nana.  It was during this time that she met her husband Melford Pinckney. They were married in 1946 and had 62 years of togetherness until his demise in December, 2008.  She was a stay at home wife and mom of 5 children.

No matter where she lived in Savannah, she was known for her pleasing personality and for helping others in her neighborhood and throughout.  She was known to all as “Miss Pearl” and became famous for her Fruit cakes where she got requests from all over as far west as Seattle and north to New York. She also loved to put her hands in the dirt and grew beautiful plants.  At 93 years of ages, and at her assisted living resident she had a little plot where she was still growing vegetables.

She studied with Jehovah’s Witnesses and dedicated her life to serving Jehovah in the early fifties. She was still actively attending meetings at the Kingdom Hall until the COVID Virus pandemic caused a shut down.  She remained a loyal servant of Jehovah until her passing on January 22, 2021.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.  She was also proceeded by her husband, Melford Pinckney,  2 daughters, Delores Robbin, Bernell Pinckney, and one son, Melford Pinckney, Jr.  She leaves to mourn her passing: One son, Paul Pinckney (Virginia Pinckney) of Kansas City, Missouri.  One daughter, Bernita Pinckney of Savannah, Georgia.  One daughter in law Juanita Pinckney of Philadelphia, PA,  5 granddaughters, Lynnette Griddine, Shawnte Pinckney, Markita Zimmermann, Valveeta Turner and Shautonja Woods. One grandson, Aaron Childress. 4 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters, 3 nieces, one nephew and a host of cousins and friends. She also leaves a worldwide spiritual family.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Pearl Mack Pinckney will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 30, 2021.

Public Viewing at the Funeral Home Via our Drive Thru will be from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 29, 2021.
