Mrs. Mozell D. Ellison Blackshear, 70, who transitioned on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at her residence.
Mozell Ellison Blackshear was born in Coosawhatchie, SC on December 26, 1949 to Leroy and Helen Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Robert Scott and Leroy Scott) and her sister (Margaret Scott).
Mrs. Blackshear was married to the love of her life, Mr. John Henry Blackshear, on June 8, 1996. She joined Friendship Baptist Church at an early age and sang in the Junior Choir.
Mrs. Blackshear was educated in Chatham County Public School System. She was a very giving and loveable person. A very vibrant woman who would give you the shirt off her back, if needed. She truly enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.
On Wednesday evening, May 6, 2020, Mrs. Mozell Ellison Blackshear gained her wings. She passed away peacefully at home with her family at her bedside. She was seventy years of age.
Cherishing her legacy are her beloved and devoted husband, John Henry Blackshear, Children; Stephanie Ellison, Tonja Davis (Bonner), Tamesa Snowden (Willie)all of Savannah, GA, Linda F. Ellison of New Jersey, Sharon Ellison of New Jersey, Dr. John Henry Blackshear (Kim) of North Carolina, and Keith Blackshear (Lisa)of Virginia; brothers, Wesley Scott (Lavern) of Savannah, GA and Frank Scott, of Illinois, a sister-in-law Kathleen White-Scott of Savannah, GA; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Blackshear (Debra) of Florida, and James Brown (Barbara)of Savannah, GA; numerous grands, great grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Public viewing via Drive-thru will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 12-2pm at Adams Funeral Service located at 510 Stephenson Ave, Savannah, GA 31405.
