Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Mattie Lee Blake, 76, who transitioned on Monday, August 27, 2018 at her residence.

SAVANNAH, GA

Mattie L. Blake was born January 26, 1942 in South Carolina to the late Gertie Brown and Ben
Albright. She entered into eternal rest on August 27, 2018 at home surrounded by family.
She received her education from The Allendale County School system. She married the late Booker T
Blake, November 6, 1960 and from this union five children were born. Mattie accepted the Lord Jesus
Christ into her life at a very early age. After moving to Savannah she joined Friendship Baptist Church
and later joined West Broad Seventh-DayAdventist Church under the leadership of Dr. T A McNealy.
She served as an usher and on the financial committee until her health declined. She was employed by
Savannah-Chatham County Public School System for 36 years. She retired June 2008. She enjoyed her
plants, traveling and grand kids.

She leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories three daughters: Bertha Blake (Kenneth Sr), Atlanta Ga;
Dorothy Blake, Pooler Ga; Renita Blake-Johnson, Savannah Ga; two sons: Booker T Blake Jr,
Savannah Ga; Jerald Blake (Andrea), Garden City Ga; 10 grandchildren: Kanisha Blake, Kenneth
Pompey, Christen Edwards, Nia Sherman, Jerald V Blake, Jeron Blake, Imani Johnson, Jamari Blake,
Jasmine Sherman, Justin Blake; 4 great grandchildren; two brothers: Isaish (Almonia) Albright and
Willie (Jan) Taylor Jersey City NJ; three sisters: Eva Matos and Joann Taylor Allendale SC; Shelia
Gardener, Jersey City NJ; four brothers-in-law: Jefford Lee Blake (Rosa Lee), Savannah Ga, Walworth and Alexander Blake, Atlanta Ga; Richmond Blake, Idyllwild, California; one sister-in-law: Sade Sanders, Estil SC, special friend Rebecca Johnson, and a host of dedicated nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

*** Adams announces funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Lee Blake (Brown) which will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at West Broad Street Seventh-Day Adventist Church located 2501 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

***Viewing: Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 12:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

***I nterment: Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
