Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Matilda Miller Grant, 89, who transitioned on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at her residence in Midway, GA.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 8, 2020.
Digital viewing will be held from 12:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Matilda Miller Grant was born in Daufuskie Island, South Carolina on January 12, 1931, to Albert (Jimmy) Miller, and Matilda Martin Miller, she was one of eight children four of which preceded her in death. Albert Miller, Aaron Miller, Ulysses Miller, and Elizabeth Knight. Surviving sisters are Susie Shannonhouse, Decatur, Ga, Annalee Martin, New York, Joanne M. Addison, Savannah Ga, Matilda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A woman that loved God, and her family.
Matilda married the love of her life, Robert Grant on June 28th, 1950, a blessed marriage which brought six beautiful children. One who has preceded in death, Anthony L. Grant. Surviving children are Cynthia Wiggins, Robert (Geri) Grant, Letitia (Larry) Ellison, Alphonso Grant, Denise (Kevin) Davis.
Matilda love and adored her husband Robert, and affectionately called him “Buddy”. When and whenever you saw Matilda, “Buddy” was at her side.
Mrs. Grant was a devoted Christian, and member of Miller’s Temple FBC. She served as a Deacon “S”, Usher and Treasured of the Usher Board. Matilda was an excellent Homemaker. She attended school in Chatham County.
Matilda passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2020. Surrounded by her loving family.
She will be deeply missed by her 5 children, 19 grands, and 35 great grands, and other family, and friends.
