Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Mary Dell Smith, 91, who transitioned on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family.

Mary Dell Smith was born in Mt. Vernon, GA on April 6, 1930 to Lawyer and Viola  Smith.

Her favorite pastime was shopping for “hats”, Church and collecting roosters for  her kitchen.

She was married to the late Warnell Smith, Sr. for 20 years before his death in  1971. She retired from Georgia Regional Hospital of Savannah after 30+ years of  service as a LPN.

In addition to her husband, Warnell Smith, Sr., she was preceded in death by her  parents and 7 siblings (Sadie, Ozzie, Lucille, Willie, Grady, Claudia & Edna).

Mary Dell believed in God and was a Christian. Early Sunday morning,  October 10, 2021, she received her wings.

She leaves to cherish loving memories; 2 sons, Warnell Smith, Jr., Savannah, GA  and Sozufe Adeleri known as “Ricky”, Miami, FL; 5 grandchildren Marquis Cooks,  Marcus Cooks, Kierra Cooks, Ibn & Bint; 26 great grands and a host of nieces,  nephews and cousins.
