Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Margie Byrd McNeal, 81, who transitioned on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Memorial Hospital.
Adams announces graveside services of Mrs. Margie Ann Byrd McNeal which will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Catholic Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held from 6 P.M. - 8 P.M., Friday, April 23, 2021 at the funeral home via our drive thru.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the St. Judes Children's Hospital in care of Mrs. Margie McNeal.
Mrs. Margie Ann Byrd McNeal, of Savannah Georgia went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2021. She was 81.
Margie was born on January 31, 1940 in Jacksonville Florida to the late Mr. Charlie and Lillie Gibbs Byrd. She attended St. Benedict The Moor Catholic School and graduated from St. Pius X Catholic High School, Savannah Ga. On April 25, 1959, she married the late Mr. John Wesley McNeal. To this union, they were blessed with 4 children. Margie worked as a dietitian’s assistant at Memorial Health University Medical Center and retired after 36 years of dedicated service. Her hobbies included reading, music and conversing with friends. In her spare time, she crocheted blankets for those in need and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. In her own words, her fondest memories were “the moment I saw my children for the first time, the time I spent with them and those things we did together; my mother and father, my friends.”
She was a devout member of St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory her 4 children, Reatte McNeal Bowers Best and Lillie McNeal Jordan (Toney) of Savannah; Cornell McNeal (June) of Fayetteville GA; Burnell McNeal (Samantha) of Jacksonville Florida; one brother, Clarence Byrd (Marcia) of Savannah; eight grandchildren (Eric Jr., Ryan, Taylor, Trevor, Cornell Jr., Terrell, Brittani and Bre-Onna); one great grandchild (Jordyn) and a host of other relatives and friends.
