Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Jacqueline Simmons Scott, 50, who transitioned Saturday, June 12, 2021.

Adams announces funeral services for Ms. Jacqueline Simmons Scott which will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Mosaic Church located 7 Canebrake Rd.

OBITUARY:

Jacqueline (Jackie) Marie Simmons-Scott was born May 30, 1971, in Newark, New Jersey to Georgia Simmons and the late Charles G. Simmons. Sr. The fifth of seven siblings, she was preceded in death by her oldest brother Charles Simmons, Jr.

Jackie attended Chatham County Public Schools and graduated from Savannah High School in 1989. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Eric B. Scott Sr June 5,1995. This union produced two beautiful children, Kayla Marie and Eric Bruce Scott, Jr.

Jackie later furthered her education at Savannah State University.  She later decided to pursue her passion of Cosmetology and completed her Master Cosmetologist license in 1991 at the Savannah School of Cosmetology.  Jackie masted her craft in many salons throughout Savannah ultimately operating her own salon, NuMe Spa and Salon. Being the determined women she was, Jackie also established a career as a medical insurance professional at Memorial Health University and Pruitt Health where she exceled professionally as well.

Seeking change and better opportunities her children, Jackie moved to Metro-Atlanta in 2012.  In Atlanta is where Jackie came alive and began to add to her entrepreneurial aspirations.  While in Atlanta she created her new brand (Soul In A Bowl) as a celebrity chef cooking for many of Atlanta’s local celebrity clientele. Jackie had the pleasure to demonstrate her culinary skills for such clients as Keith Sweat, Dave Hollister and many others. She also launched Soul In A Bowl weekly live cooking show via various Social Media Platforms, she expanded her brand and love for Cooking and Event Planning hosting several charitable and social events throughout Metro-Atlanta.

Jackie was baptized as an infant at Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in Newark, New Jersey.  While growing up in Savannah, she attended St. Benedict the Moor Catholic church where she was active in the youth ministry.  As an adult she became a member of New Covenant Church (Mosaic Church) where she participated in several ministry related organizations.

Jackie departed this life June 12,2021 leaving a void in the lives of all she touched. Jackie was preceded in death by her oldest brother Charles G. Simmons Jr and her father Charles G. Simmons Sr.  She is survived by her two loving children to cherish her legacy:  Kayla (Marcus) Scott and Eric B. Scott of Snellville, GA; the apple of her eye her grandson Kaiden Anthonio Williams, her adoring mother Georgia Simmons (Hinesville, GA) ; six siblings: Jeanie (Marion) Rivers, Michel (Stacey) Simmons, Rose (Clearance) Smith, Shawn Bulloch, Emma (Jeff) Moses and Maxwell ( Kamilah) Simmons. Twenty nieces and nephews, 11 grand nieces and nephews and an abundance of other family members and friends.
