Mrs. Evelyn Hamilton

October 21, 1955 — November 7, 2021

Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Evelyn J. Hamilton, 66, who transitioned on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Landmark Hospital.

Evelyn Jannice Hamilton of Savannah, GA transitioned from earth to glory on November 7, 2021 while in the care of Landmark Hospital of Savannah. This beautiful woman was born October 21, 1955 to Louise Patterson and the late Mr. Harold Mitchell. Evelyn graduated from Richard Arnold High School in 1975 and worked a vast majority of her life as a Homemaker. She also served in the Air Force.
She met Ken, the love of her life, in a club back in November 1985. He asked her to dance. After their dance, he asked her to tell him a little bit about herself and she replied jokingly "You want me to start from childhood?" It was love at first sight. Ken didn't propose traditionally. He was getting ready to deploy to Germany and he asked, "Are we going to get married so you can go with me?" She said yes and they married in April of 1986 in Savannah, GA in the front room of their apartment. Saturday Love was their song until the day she took her last breath.

Evelyn loved her family more than anything. Her and her daughter were the best of friends. She enjoyed writing poetry, sewing, cooking and shopping. She loved building her reward points and catching red tag sales.  Evelyn loved making people laugh, the beach, crabs, conch, Coldstone ice cream, and traveling. She preferred the beach for vacation. She loved HGTV, decorating, cooking, catering, and planning events.  Evelyn truly loved to bake for the holidays. Sweet potato pie & hummingbird cake were her specialities.
Evelyn never met a stranger because she loved everybody. She'd talk to anybody. She always had a kind word and was a part-time comedian. She made it her business to make others laugh and to brighten their day. Evelyn was the Founder of Hello Jello, a local jello shot business, that helped to add to having a good time.
Evelyn was more than a conqueror. She was a breast & thyroid cancer survivor and she will be remembered mostly for the joy she added to the life of others. Evelyn is survived by her husband Ken Hamilton of 35 years and her children Laquisha Thompson (daughter) and Kenshard Hamilton (son); one grand daughter Trana Howard (military spouse); sisters Cynthia Patterson, Michelle Mitchell-Hutchinson, and Monica Brown; one brother Larry Mitchell and a host of extended family members, colleagues and close friends.
There will be no services. End of Life Care  was handled by Adams Funeral Home of Savannah, GA. Flowers and cards can be sent to 8 Saint Ives Place Savannah, GA 31419.
