Adams announces funeral services for Mrs. Earline Elnora Beckett 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 14, 2020 at St. John Baptist Church "The Mighty Fortress" 2415 East DeRenne Ave. Public Viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M.- 6:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
Interment: Magnolia Memorial Gardens.

Earline Elnora Griffin-Beckett was born on October 4, 1942, to the late Richard and Rosa Griffin of Savannah, Georgia. On February 29, 2020, Earline answered the Master’s call and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Earline attended Tompkins public school. She later relocated to Cleveland, OH, but
returned to Savannah and was joined into holy matrimony to the late Henry E. Bowers until his death. This union was blessed with three beautiful girls. Later she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Dea. Luther Beckett and was blessed with one son.
Earline’s love for children would lead her to be a successful foster parent for many years. She decided to further her education in Childcare Development at Savannah Vocational College. She owned and operated Earline’s Home Daycare for 20 years until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Hopkins.
Earline was a member of Savannah Chapter 159 Eastern Star, Golden Age group and The Widow’s Heart Ministries. She was a loyal and faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she worked diligently in varies ministries. She served on the Deaconess Board, Director of Children’s Choir, Mass Choir as a Soprano, Secretary and President. Earline later moved her membership to St. John Baptist Church “The Mighty Fortress,” under the leadership of Pastor George P. Lee, lll. She faithfully served in the Voices of The Mighty Fortress until her health failed.
On February 29, 2020, Earline answered the Master’s call and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Memories of her life will be forever cherished by her daughters Che’rie A. Bowers of Savannah, GA; Tammy J. Geter of Lithonia, GA; Stacey L. Brunner of Loganville, GA. Sons Kenneth Beckett of Lithonia, GA., adopted son Richard Beckett of Savannah, GA.; Five sisters: Delores Auguster of Jacksonville, FL.; Irma Williams, Brenda (Harold) Jones and Marie Settles all of Savannah, GA; Irene (Major) Mitchell of Miami, FL.; and Two brothers: Julius (Katrina) Newton of Tampa, FL.; and Richard (Shelia) Griffin of Richmond Hill, GA.; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
