Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Barbara Ann Benjamin Spaulding, 76, who transitioned on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 20, 2021.
Viewing will be held from 2 P.M. - 4 P.M., Friday, February 19, 2021 at the funeral home via our drive-thru.
Barbara Ann Spaulding, 76, of Savannah, GA was called home to Jesus on February 13, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born on April 14, 1944 to the late Richard and Cozennia Benjamin. She was the first of six children.
She had a very vibrant and happy childhood.
Barbara, a proud Wolverine went on to graduate from Thompkins High School in 1962.
Always an innovator and go-getter; She became the first African American woman to own and operate a Licensed International Travel Agency in Georgia.
Barbara met and married the late Leroy Spaulding Jr., a Vietnam Veteran. That union was blessed with one son, N’Gai Alexander Spaulding.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memories her son and grandchildren; her sisters Richardean and Patricia; her brothers Ronald, Tyrone, and Vincent and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, classmates and co-workers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider a donation in Barbara’s name to the Leukemia Research and the Humane Society.
As long as we keep her in our mind and hearts her spirit will live on.
