Sherry Lee Erskine, 70, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016. She was born July 10, 1946 in Monongahela, Pennsylvania to Frederick B. & Catherine L. (Keen) Stillwagon. She graduated at the top of her class at Central High School in South Bend, Indiana and received her Master’s Degree from Indiana University of Bloomington. She was a National Merit Scholar. After a brief stint in Chicago as a social worker, Ms. Erskine moved south and started her own pension consulting business as Erskine & Associates, settling in Savannah, Georgia in 1977. In addition, she was a longtime advocate for Chatham Savannah Citizen Advocacy and let her light shine on many, many others.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Emma Rea Sheets (Kenneth), siblings, Patricia Ann Pond (Cooper) of Indiana, Nancy Jo Wise (Jimmy) of Nova Scotia, and William Harvey Stillwagon of Indiana, nieces and nephews, Jonathon Pond, Heather Pond (Dave), Christopher Wise, Catherine Wise (Nate), Jeremiah Kytta, Joshua Stillwagon (Mallory) and great nephew & niece, Jeremiah & Jaydah Stillwagon. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Frederick Thomas Stillwagon, and niece, Alicia Marie Stillwagon.
An open house celebration of her life will be held for friends and family at her home in Ardsley Park on Sunday, November 13th starting at 1PM.
