Mrs. Rose "Ree" Marie Tyson

April 26, 1945 — April 27, 2017

Mrs. Rose "Ree" Marie Tyson, 72, had her transition on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Hospice Savannah surrounded by her loving family.

Rose Marie Brown Tyson, daughter of the late Johnny Brown Sr. and the late Rosalie Thomas Brown was born on April 26, 1945 in Savannah, GA. “REE” as she was affectionately called was educated in the public schools of Chatham County.  She was a 1963 graduate of Alfred Ely Beach High School and attended Savannah Area Trade School.

Rose was baptized at First Bryan Baptist Church by Rev. Richard McQueen Williams in 1956. After her schooling she moved to New York City and was employed at New York State Psychiatric Institute for fifteen (15) years as an Administrative Secretary. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Rudolph Tyson on June 15, 1978.To  this union one daughter was borned Monique Nicole.   Rudolph preceded her in death on August 15, 2012.

After returning to Savannah she was employed at Savannah State University in the NROTC Unit for twenty-three years until she retired in August 2007.

The battle was fought the victory won and many souls are to follow.” Hallelujah!  Hallelujah!    She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted daughter, Monique Nicole Tyson, Three grandchildren Antonio,  Justin and Ilana all of Savannah, Georgia; one loving and caring brother, Johnny (Juanita) Brown; two dedicated sisters, Anna C. Watson and Patricia B. Rutledge all of Savannah, Georgia, three devoted Nephew; Ronald (Robbie) Brown, Keith Brown,  all of Savannah, Georgia, Nathaniel (Juanita) Smalls,  of Danville, Illinois; one niece Tammy (Vernon) Osborne and a host of grandniece nephews, cousins and  a host of devoted friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose “Ree” Marie Tyson will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at First Bryan Baptist Church. Public Viewing: Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
