Ms. Rebecca Elizabeth Moisant

Rebecca passed away peacefully in her home under the care of Hannah Moisant and Michael Wright at the age of 62 on July 24, 2024. She joined her Father Richard, Mother Nancy and brother Jay Sames. She is survived by her four Children, Alex Moisant (spouse Megan Dobbs) Megan Moisant (Spouse Adam Hall) Matthew Moisant (Spouse, Cheree Moisant), Hannah Moisant (Spouse Michael Wright), and One Grandchild Mason Moisant. Beloved Dachsund Sophie and Separated Spouse John Moisant and Carolyn Sames as surviving step mother.

Rebecca was born in Seaford, Delaware on January 12, 1962, where she loved swimming in the community pool and graduated from Nursing school.

Due to Macular Degeneration taking her vision Rebecca was forced to retire from her position as Nurse Manager of the mental health unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kankakee, Il. 

Rebecca remained A devout catholic and dedicated mother who spent years homeschooling her children, despite her gradual blindness. She was highly creative and poured that creativity into beautiful handmade ornaments and photograph albums for her children meticulously documenting their lives. 

Rebecca could often be found in the garden or suntanning by the pool. She loved visits to the beach particularly Ocean City, New jersey where she would spend the summers as a child.

Ever altruistic, Rebecca spent her time at Savannah Association of the Blind offering her services providing planning and support for several events. 

With a tough but tender heart Rebecca leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and faith. She is cherished by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. 

A Celebration of Life- Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in The Adams Chapel.
