Mrs. Rebecca Gray Bolden

A loved sister, widow, aunt, mother, and grandmother of three generations, Rebecca Gray Bolden, passed away on June 10th, 2023 due to natural causes. She was 100 years old.

Rebecca was born to the late Jesse Maner and Cleveland Gray in South Carolina on January 14th, 1923. Although she was raised in South Carolina, she later moved to Savannah, GA, with her husband the late Mr. Rudy C. Bolden, whom she had married in 1946, and had four children with. She worked as a Seamstress & Cook for many years while raising their children. After her retirement and the death of her husband, she would move to New Jersey with her daughter and second oldest son to help raise her grandchildren. Rebecca did return south for several years to be with her sisters after the grands got older, but would ultimately have to return back to New Jersey in 2010. Rebecca resided with her daughter and grandchildren until her grandson passed away in 2021; then it was just the three ladies. She loved sewing, taking trips, going to church, eating, and telling people off every so often. Everyone always said she was a character and they were right. The looks she would give you, the things she would say would have you falling on the floor laughing, but her strength and resilience was definitely God given. She is preceded in death by her parents, most of her siblings, her husband, her oldest son, one grandson, and other family. She is survived by her baby sister, three children, a lot of grand, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loving friends both biological and adopted.

On Monday, June 19th from 4-5pm a viewing will be held at Adams Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Magnolia Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
