Mrs. Mary Ann West

Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Mary Ann West, 67, who gained her angelic wings on Friday, February 2, 2024 at her Residence.

Mary was born in Bayonne New Jersey she was the youngest of 8 children born to George and Ruth Zellmann,. Mary was a taxi driver in Keansburg NJ where she never met a stranger, and everyone was "hon" to her. Mary's favorite pass times were making 20-pound lasagnas, watching lifetime movies, drinking coffee, playing 500 rummy and doing word searches. Mary loved wearing bright clothing with wild patterns even if they didn't match. She would say "who cares? its clean and paid for". Her outfits were never complete without her god awful out of style fanny pack and long white or if we got lucky colorful tub socks. Mary also always wore a smile and always had a sweet giggle to go with her positive outlook.

Beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend Mary is now watching over her husband John of Savannah, her daughter and son in law Ruthie and Jonathon Figgins, their 2 daughters Sophia and Olivia of Florida. Her sister Doris and husband Ahmet Moustafa of Elizabeth New Jersey. Her brother Eddie and his wife Ann Zellmann of Missouri, and sister Alice of Missouri, and many, many, many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her late husband Peter Poggioli, two sisters Ruth (Cookie)Gray, Janet Gregorio, two brothers George (Butchy) and his wife Barbara Zellmann and Tommy Zellmann and his wife Lori of New Jersey.

Mary was always an animal lover and most likely met at the pearly gates by many beloved pets that she had over her lifetime, including Fluffy, Lucky and Snowball. Mary is now resting easy and enjoying a winning game of heavenly bingo where she finally got some lucky boards.

A memorial service will be held with family and close friends at a spring date in her birth state of New Jersey.
