Lula Myers Stafford was born July 19, 1926 to the Late Elijah Myers and Elizabeth German on Dafuskie Island, South Carolina. She was educated in the Beaufort County Schools. Lula was a Housekeeper for the Young Family (owners of Tanners) for many years and took pride in her work.
In December 1945, Lula married the Late Mike Stafford. To this union two children were born, Elijah Stafford (who preceded her in death) and Emily Stafford Johnson.
She was a lifelong member of Central Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher's Ministry.
Lula leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted Caregivers, Daughter & Son-in-Love, Emily and Joseph Johnson; Granddaughters, Alissa Johnson & Rev. Dr. Salynn K. Evans; Great-Grandsons, Joseph R. Johnson and Jordan Z. Johnson; Goddaughter, Laverne Alexander; Cousin, Dea. Samuel Jenkins and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Stafford will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Central Baptist Church (Hitch Village).
Instate: 9:30 A.M. until the hour of services.
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery.
