Mrs. Lizzie H. ""Bell"" Givens

Mrs. Lizzie H. ""Bell"" Givens, 94, had her transition on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving and caring family.

Lizzie ""Bell"" Givens was born July 15, 1921 in Girard Georgia to the late General and Bertha Holmes. She was also Educated in Girard Georgia where she attended the public schools there. At an early age, she united with Givens Grove Baptist Church in Girard, Ga. She was united in holy Matrimony with Roosevelt Givens, Sr. and from that union three children were born, two sons Roosevelt and Melvin and one daughter Bertha Lee. She is a former member of Macedonia Fire Baptized Church, Savannah, Ga.

On April 10, 2016, she was called home to be with the Lord. She is preceded in death by her husband Mr. Roosevelt Givens Sr., her son Mr. Melvin Givens, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Dumbar (twin sister) and Mrs. Willie Pearl Ellison, one brother Mr. Frank Dixon, and one son-in-law Mr. Leroy Grant. She is survived by one son, Mr. Roosevelt Givens, Jr., of Savannah, Ga., One daughter, Mrs. Bertha Lee Grant of Brooklyn, N.Y. Two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Vencie Mitchell and Mrs. Thelma Givens, of Savannah Ga., One daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Ann Givens of Savannah Ga., fifteen grandchildren, Roosevelt (Ursla), Renee, Joseph (Danielle), Robert, Dionne (Alphonso), Mose, Melvin, Nathaniel, James, Lizzie Mae, Michael Givens, Theresa, Leroy, April, Art Grant, host of great grands, great great grands, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She also had a very special caretaker, Mrs. Mary L. Smalls.



Celebration of Life for Mrs. Lizzie H. Givens will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church 4123 First Street, Garden City, GA Rev. Ronald E. Small, Sr., Pastor, Rev. Dionne Piper, Eulogist.

Public Viewing: Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.

Instate 11:30 A.M. until the hour of service.

Interment: Woodville Cemetery.
