Adams announces the funeral services of Mrs. Hazel Lee Higgins scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 11, 2017 at Resurrection Of Our Lord Catholic Church located 112 Fell St. Father Robert Chaney, Celebrant

Hazel L. Higgins a lifetime resident of Savannah, GA died Friday 1 September 2017 at home surrounded by family. She was born on 26 October 1934. She was the third child of Leroy and Mattie Williams, who preceded her in death. Hazel was married to James Vincent Higgins who also preceded her in death. 

Hazel truly loved doting and cooking for her family. The only thing she loved just as much was cooking and baking for friends and extended family. Everyone sure are going to miss her famous “Hazel Fingers!” 

She is survived by six children, Jude Blassingale, Harvey B. Williams (Donna), Delia Flores, Petra Bland, James Ron Higgins (deceased and Jaime Higgins-Sledge (Burt), nine grandchildren Jackie Dobson, Dawn Jones, Dwayne Freeman, Chamequa Williams,, Antoine Williams (Wive Aminah), Zaletta Williams, Ivy Phaire, Tiffany Phaire, Erica Williams six sisters Celia Thornton, Betty Williams, Zelonia Ford (Joe), Frizzel Harris, Marcenia Williams, Shelia Brown (carl), and one brother, Edward Williams. She also leaves behind God daughters Roshida Edwards and Nakita Stephenson. Siblings Albert Williams, Leroy (Sonny) Williams Jr (Odessa), and Leoma Roberson preceded her in death as well.
