Mrs. Ernestine Rountree, 88, had her transition on Friday, January 29, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.


Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the chapel of Adams Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 4, 2016 at First Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church.

Interment: Magnolia Memorial Gardens.

ERNESTINE ROUNTREE

Ms. Ernestine Rountree, 88, entered into eternal rest Friday, January 29, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family and under the excellent care of Hospice Savannah. She was born in Badin, NC to Arthur Lee and Florrie H. Rountree, the last of four daughters. Her parents, siblings, and a daughter (Linda Gayle) preceded her in death.

The longtime Chatham County resident was a member of First Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at Derst Baking Company and retired as a food service worker at Georgia Regional Hospital - Savannah.

Survivors include her daughters: Sharon R. Carson of Savannah and Pamela R. (Willard) Walker of Decatur, GA; grandchildren: Shalonda Rountree of Savannah, Christopher (Tanya) Carson of Tampa, FL, Willard (Sonyetta) Walker II of Rex, GA, Shalinda Walker of Decatur, Cameron (Octavia) Cooper of Wahiawa, HI; eight great-grands; a special niece Shirley Henderson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the chapel of Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 4, 2016 - 11:00 AM at First Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. Interment: Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
