Mrs. Edith Cornelia Colley Bynum

Mrs. Edith Bynum, 97, had her transition on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Hospice of Savannah surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bynum will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church.

Public Viewing will be held Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 12PM- 6PM with visitation/wake from 5PM-6PM in the Adams Chapel.

Interment: Hillcrest Abbey East.




Mrs. Edith Bynum was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. She was a native of Ludowici, GA. She married John Henry Bynum Sr. and moved to Savannah, GA. She graduated from Dorchester Academy. She was an Eastern Star and an educator. She leaves behind her son, John Henry Bynum, Jr.; three daughters, Joan Bynum Newson, Sandra Bynum Hawes (Fred), and Gloria Bynum Smith (Frank Sr); brothers, Herbert and George Colley; one sister, Juanita Neal; 9 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Hospice Savannah for your kindness and support during her care and transition.
