Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Betty L. West, 79, who transitioned on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Oaks at Habersham.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Second Arnold Baptist Church.

Viewing: 4 PM - 6 PM, Friday, July 12, 2024 at the funeral home.

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery.

OBITUARY:

Betty Jean Simmons Ladson West, born on November 18, 1944, in Savannah, Georgia,

passed away peacefully at the Oaks Habersham covered by Bridge Hospice on July 3,

2024. Betty devoted over three decades to teaching, touching the lives of many

students through her work in various schools. She was an active member of the Second

Arnold Baptist Church, contributing her time and talents to various church roles. Betty

will always be remembered for her dedication to education and service in both

Savannah, GA, and Gallatin, TN.

Betty is survived by her loving children: Roderick West, Robert West, Lois Kimmi

Walker; daughter-in-law Darlene Ladson; brother Charlie Simmons; sisters Charlesetta

Fisher, Stephanie Echols; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large

extended family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

To honor Betty's lifelong service and passion for education, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the George Dingle Scholarship Fund. Your generous contributions will continue Betty's legacy of supporting and empowering young minds in their pursuit of higher education
