Celebration of Life for Mrs. Betty Ann Harrell Hart "The Queen" will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Brownville Baptist Church located 1307 E. 37th St. **We will be live-streaming this service on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@adamsfuneralservicessav8503
Visitation with the family will be held 5 PM - 7 PM, Friday, February 3, 2023 in The Adams Chapel.
Interment: Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery of Ellabell, GA.
OBITUARY
Betty Ann Harrell Hart was born on February 6, 1948 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Thomas Punch Harrell and Annie Mae Green Harrell.She was also raised in Pembroke, Georgia and Ellabell, Georgia.
Betty Ann Harrell Hart was a proud graduate of A. E. Beach High School Class of 1966.
On July 8, 1966 Betty married the future SMSGT Leroy Hart (United States Air Force, Retired). Unto this union three children was born. She was a dutiful military spouse as SMSGT Leroy Hart was deployed in various duty stations around the world. She also received CNA Certification in Omaha. Nebraska.
Betty gave her life to Jesus Christ as a young girl and was a lifetime member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. She joined Brownsville under the ministry of the Rev. Dr. Willie E. Gywn, Sr. She served in various positions such as Senior Choir, Sunday School, President of The Usher's Ministry, Vice President of The J. M. Butler Club Ministry, Missionary, and Church Mother until her health declined.
Betty also served as a Board Member of the Metropolitan Neighborhood Association, and a Block Captain. Betty had a heart for people and hands for service. She was a mentor, spiritual mother, godmother, “auntie”, confidante, advisor to clergy, and friend.
On Monday, January 23, 2023 God in His Divine Providence called Betty Ann Harrell Hart from labor to reward. She had sisters Elizabeth Pretlow and Patricia Holmes as well as a brother Thomas Harrison that preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory: A daughter Michelle Denise Hart, two sons, Leroy Hart, Jr. and the Rev. Thomas Lee Hart. One granddaughter, Shanika Monique Hart. Two great-grandchildren Diamond D. Hart and Jerome Thomas Perry, III. Sisters: Elizabeth(Johnnie) Kicklighter, Cheryl (Al) Quarterman, Yasmine G. Riley, Donna (Prince) Dillon, Robbie Mae Bing, Linda Gail Martin and Willie Sue Harrison. Brothers: Will Anthony Harrell Holmes and Ronnie Grant. Sister-In-Laws: Mary Lou Harrison, Annette McCrary, Angela McCray, and Deborah Chandler of South Fulton, Georgia, Brother in Laws: Horace McCrary Jr., Anthony Brooks, and Dennis McCrary. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
