Adams announces the passing of Mrs. Arnita Lee Jenkins, 87, who transitioned on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at her residence.

Profile of Life

Amita Lee Jenkins was born in Statesboro, GA on January 2, 1930 to the late Dennis and Eunice Moore Knight She was the eldest of seven children, in which three of her siblings
preceded her in death: Mr. Ronald D. Knight, Ms. Beautine Knight, and Mrs. Doris Y. Fowler.

At an early age, Amita moved to Savannah, Georgia where
she attended the Public Schools of Chatham County.After completing her education, she met and married the love of her life, Mr. Jessie Jenkins. Their union was blessed with
seven children, in which one, Mrs. Pamela K. Haley, preceded her in death.         .

Arnlta was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family with all of her heart and soul. There wasn't
anything she wouldn't do for them or for anyone in need. Her joy was spending time with her grandchildren, they were
the light of her life.

She had many talents, however her passion was cooking, sewing, and gardening.

Believing in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, she joined Mt Zion Baptist Church. She was a faithful member until her
health failed. During her membership, she served on the Missionary Board, the Kitchen Committee, and sung in the
Choir. For all of her hard work and dedicated service to her church, Amita's family was elected "Mount Zion's Family of
the Year" in 2006.

The Angels came for Amita, my beloved wife and our beloved mother, on Sunday morning, November 19, 2017.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Mr. Jessie Jenkins; two daughters, Mrs. Angela D. Frazier and
Mrs. Gwendolyn Jones (Willis); four sons, Mr. Kenneth Smith, Jr., Mr. Michael A Smith, Mr. Ricky D. Smith (Linda), all of
Savannah, GA, and Mr. Earl Dalton of Iacksonville, NC; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Walker of Savannah, GA, Ms. Priscilla
Knight of Chicago, IL, and Ms. Elizabeth Davis of Savannah, GA; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, four
great-great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends. Amita will eternally live in our hearts.
