Mr. Ernest Brisbane, Jr.

Adams announces the passing of Mr. Ernest Brisbane, Jr. 90, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Savannah Georgia March 4, 1927 to the late Ernest Brisbane, Sr. and Ella Mae Lewis Brisbane.

He was educated in the local schools of Savannah, graduating from Cuyler Beach High School.  He also earned a certification as a bricklayer from Savannah Vocation School.  He was a Veteran of the United Sates Army Air Corp.  He retired from Bell South and the Savannah Morning News after more than 30 years of service.

He was a member of Second Saint John Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his church and was a faithful member of the Usher Board, Men’s Ministry, and attended Sunday School.

A gregarious person, Ernest enjoyed his family and many friends.  He was an avid reader, a sports enthusiast, playing baseball and softball for many leagues around Savannah.

He leaves to celebrate his life, a loving wife of over 71 years, Rosa Lee Myrick Brisbane. Two daughters, Ella (Frank) Bell, and Joyce Brisbane Larry, four sons Ernest (Awanda) Brisbane III., Robert (Terry) Brisbane, Joseph (Barbara, deceased) Brisbane, and Aaron Brisbane. One sister: Mildred (Willie) Brown, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, three sisters-in-law, and two goddaughters. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Brisbane, Jr. will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Second Saint John Missionary Baptist church located 1323 Golden St. Pastor Marque' Johnson, Sr.

Viewing: Friday, February 2, 2018 from 10:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Visitation with the family from 6:00 P.M.-8:00P.M. at Second St. John Baptist Church.

Interment: Bonaventure Cemetery, Greenwich Section.
