Adams announces the passing of Mr. Christopher Williams, Jr., 84, who transitioned on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Candler Hospital.

Adams announces Mass of Christian Burial Services for Mr. Christopher Williams, Jr. which will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Church.

​Visitation with the family will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M., Monday.

Interment: Georgia Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Glennville, GA.

Christopher Williams, Jr. was born on November 9, 1933 to the late Christopher Williams Sr. and Mildred Ferguson in Savannah, Georgia.  At the age of 85 he departed this life on July 11, 2018.

He attended Alfred. E. Beach High School and after graduation entered the United States Army.  He was also a Merchant Marine where he served for 18 years.  After retiring from the Merchant Marine, Chris worked for the City of Savannah Water Operations Department for many years, where he received numerous awards for dedicated service including Employee of the Month, Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year.  He retired from the City of Savannah in 1999 after 14 years of service.

Chris was joined in Holy Matrimony to Willetta Bradham on October 10, 1958.  They shared sixty years of beautiful wedlock.  To this union, one child was born.  Christopher Williams, Jr. was received into the Catholic Faith on July 15, 1978 at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, Savannah, Georgia by Reverend Fred Nijem.  He remained dedicated to his Church, St. Benedict the Moor where he was a staunch member of the Knights of Columbus until death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Willetta; one son, Christopher, III; four grandchildren, LaKisha, Crystal, Christopher IV, Cameron and Chloe Kris; two brothers, Ernest Leon Williams who preceded him in death and Christopher Brown; many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
