Mr. Anthony L. Grant was born in Savannah, Ga on May 27, 1959 to the late Robert Grant
Sr. and Matilda Grant. He was the fifth child of eight siblings. He graduated from Savannah
High School in 1977. After graduation he became employed at Union Camp (International
Paper) where he operated machinery for 10 years until he became disabled in 1988.
Anthony was a devoted Christian and member of Savannah Deliverance Center where he met the
love of his life Ms. Loraine King. The two became united in holy matrimony on Nov 7, 1979.
Later he became a member of Christian Revival Center and sang on the Praise Team.
He enjoyed being a “Stay At Home Dad”. He cooked and spent quality time with his children
and grandchildren. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and grilling. He was well known for having a
big heart.
Anthony passed away on February 21, 2020 in Atlanta Georgia. He will be deeply missed. He
leaves to cherish his memory: A loving mother, Matilda Grant; his three heartbeats; His daughter
Davida N. Futch, Son Marcus U. (Anadeji) Grant, and daughter Antwenette “Charae” Smith; his
siblings; Robert (Fran) Harris, Edward (Dorothy) Williams, Cynthia Wiggins, Robert L.
(Geri) Grant, Letitia (Larry) Ellison, Alphonso Grant, and Denise (Kevin) Davis; 10
grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
