Adams announces the passing of Mr. Alfred Williams "Truck", 80, who transitioned on Friday, January 1, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Adams announces the graveside services of Mr. Alfred "Truck" Williams which will be held 12:00 P.M., Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Bryan Neck Baptist Church Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held from 4 P.M. - 6 P.M., Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the funeral home via our drive-thru.
Alfred Williams, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 04, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.
Alfred was born in Savannah, Georgia (White Bluff Community) on January 07, 1940, to the late Mr. Daniel Williams, Sr. and the late Mrs. Virginia Harvey Williams. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey Williams, Lawrence Williams, and Daniel Williams, Jr.
Alfred attended Haven Home School and graduated from Beach High School Class of 1957. He attended Savannah State College. Alfred served in the Air Force and retired from the U.S. Postal Service and the City of Savannah.
Alfred was a life-long member of St. Thomas AME Church where he served as a Steward under the leadership of Rev. James Sheppard, Sr.
Alfred leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted and loving wife, Barbara Mattox Williams; children Allen Williams, Vernon Williams, Gwendolyn Williams, and Princess Johnson; mother -in-law, Mrs. Carrie Mattox DeVillers; sister, Mrs. Sadie Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia; sister in law, Mrs. Elvenia Williams of Kingsland, Georgia; Marsha Mattox and Carolyn DeVillers of Savannah, Georgia; brothers in law; Charles Ferguson, Jr. (Verna) of Los Angeles, CA, Herman Mattox (Lula), Joseph Mattox, Sr. and Cassius DeVillers of Savannah, Georgia. Alfred is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends.
