OBITUARY:
Willie James (Mr. Willie / Willie See) Lambert, Jr. was called home to glory on July 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 26, 1956 to the late Willie James Lambert and Frankie Mae Lambert Manigo. Mr. Willie was born in Screven County-Sardis Ga. He was the oldest of three sons.
He was baptized and joined Fifth Street Baptist Church at an early age and sung in the choir. Mr. Willie attended Chatham County public schools and graduated from Richard Arnold High in 1975.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Citronella (Citra-Centra) Gordon on January 10, 1979. To this union, one son and two daughters were born.
Willie started working at age 14. He worked many years at Starland Dairies with his father, and Sunbeam Bakery. He was an active employee at ILA (International Longshoremen Association) Local 1414 for over 25 years and he loved his job tremendously.
Everyone who knew him loved him. He was a loving and giving man. He enjoyed helping other people and always gave from his heart. Every year at Christmas time, it gave him joy to bless the sanitation workers and the mail carrier with a monetary gift. On January 1st of every year, he would visit various family and friends homes. He was continuing his Uncle Nay's tradition by being the 1st male to walk through the door, bringing good luck for the new year. His wit and humor was the light of many lives.
On the morning of Thursday, July 17, 2014, an angel of mercy descended and touched Willie, taking him from his earthly labor to a just reward.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Mrs. Citronella (Citra-Centra) Lambert, three children, Mr. Willie Lambert III, Ms. Irena Lambert, and Ms. Wandeana Lambert; two grandchildren, Nevada and Nevonte Smith; two brothers, Mr. Henry Lambert (Mattie) of New Jersey, and Junior Lambert; father, Mr. Marion Manigo; aunts, Ms. Lessie Mae Frazier, Ms. Rene L. Clark, and Ms. Edith Walden; five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, a special brother-in-law, James (Lish) Wright; a special friend; Mr. Kirk Floyd; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, uncles, family and friends.
