Tyrone Cotton Sr was born on May 8, 1958 in Savannah Ga. to the late Ruth Cotton and James Walter Cotton Sr. Tyrone is Preceded in death by both parents, James Walter Cotton Jr (brother) and Eric Cotton (infant brother). 

Tyrone was educated in Savannah Chatham County Public School System. After high school he went on to work for the City of Savannah for several years. 

Tyrone leaves to cherish his memory six daughters: Tiese Lewis (Randy) of Savannah Ga. Teiana Cotton Dunlap (Joewand) of Plainville Connecticut Tiffany Cotton Rivers (Carl) of Pooler Ga., Tonya Cotton of Savannah Ga., Toenice Johnson ( Michael) of Savannah Ga.  Tierra Newberry ( Marcel) of Tampa Fl., four sons: Tyrone Cotton Jr.  of Savannah Ga. Alex Cotton of Savannah Ga. Terrance Cotton of Savannah Ga. Troy Cotton of Savannah Ga. A sister: Sandra Cotton Montgomery of Savannah Ga., Three brothers: Corey Cotton Sr.(Wanda) of Savannah Ga., Leron Cotton (Angela) of Hinesville Ga., Eric Cotton of Savannah Ga. Twenty three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
