Mr. Rubin Young

       Adams announces the passing of Mr. Rubin Young, 73 who transitioned on October 17, 2017 at Hospice Savannah.  

   Deacon Rubin Milton Young was born July 3, 1944 in Savannah to Mildred Hall and Rubin Young. His family moved to Danbury, Connecticut where he was educated in Danbury Public Schools. After attending Danbury High School, Rubin join the United States Air Force in 1963. After completing four years of service he worked at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. Rubin had a strong desire to help people.

    This desire to serve others was fulfilled once he joined the Chatham County Police Department and was promoted through the ranks starting as Corporal to Major. Chatham County Police Department proved to be a successful career. In 1990 Rubin graduated from the FBI Training Academy in Quantico Virginia. Rubin retired after 30 years of service to the county.  

    On September 6, 1980, he married his soulmate Ernestine Robinson Young. With encouragement from his wife Rubin joined Savannah Deliverance Center and gave his life to the Lord in 1985. He has been dedicated to the ministry since. Serving as a close friend and helper to the late Chief Apostle, C. Wilkerson, Sr., He served as the president of the Deliverance Business Men Group. Under the leadership of Bishop Pierce Moore Jr., he was ordained Deacon Rubin Young on August 13, 2017.

       On October 17, 2017, he went home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 37 years, Ernestine R. Young; five children, Dr. James (Sonita) Young of Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Shakila (Joby, Sr.) Green of Atlanta, Georgia, Kimberly Natson of Atlanta, Georgia, Maureen Durden of Atlanta, Georgia, Anthony Clark of Savannah, Georgia; one brother, Joseph (Perdemcie); two sisters, Larene Young-Coit (Deceased), Yvonne (William) Reaves; eight grandchildren, Brandon C. Natson, James Young II, Devonte Clark, Joshua Green, Amaris VanEllison, Bryanna Young, Timothy Young, Kailyn Natson, Shakira Green, one great-granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

      Adams announces the Funeral Services for Mr. Rubin Milton Young, 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Savannah Deliverance Center.
