In Memory of Our Brother, Roland Edward Williams

Adams announces the passing of Roland Edward Williams, affectionately known as RE, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home in Washington. He was born on November 18, 1938, in Savannah, Georgia. Roland was the son of John Roger Williams, Sr, and Freddie Mae Jones Williams.

Roland was a 1957 graduate of Alfred Ely Beach High School. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Army. After honorably serving his country, Roland moved to Washington, DC and was employed by the United States Postal Service. He retired in 1996.

He was a devoted and loving son, father, and brother. He is survived by a son, Roland Edward Williams, Jr.; siblings, Jean Golden(Jim), Savannah, Georgia, John Roger Williams, Jr. Savannah, Georgia; Deloris Tindal,Detroit, Michigan, LeeWatts Williams(Shirley), Savannah, Georgia; Virginia Edwards Maynor (William),Savannah, Georgia, Marcia Willett Anderson, Atlanta, Georgia, Yvonne Denise Curry(Terry), Clarksville, Tennessee, and a devoted  companion, Jeanne Carpenter and son, Kevin Carpenter.

He was predeceased in death by his parents and brother, Alvin Carl Rufus Williams
