Mr. Michael "Michael Tee" Thompson, 57, had his transition on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Memorial Health University Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services for Mr. Michael "Michael Tee" Thompson will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 14, 2016 at Clifton Baptist Church, Big Hill Road.
Visitation: Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. in the Adams Chapel. Instate: 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service.
Interment: Cherokee Hill Cemetery.
Michael Thompson affectionately known as “Michael Tee” was born on March 23, 1959 in Savannah, GA to Matilda Thompson. Michael was educated in the Savannah Chatham County Public School System. He graduated from Robert W. Groves High School in 1977. Michael was active member of various clubs while attending Groves High.
Michael worked at Kemira, later known as Kerr-McGee/Tronox. He was a faithful and committed employee for 32 years. Michael earned numerous awards and certifications while working at Kemira. He was very passionate about providing first aid and care to others. While working at the plant, Michael was also self-employed. Michael started Savannah Cleaning Service and later East Coast Tours, LTD. Michael was a proud owner and motor coach operator. This was the perfect business as Michael loved traveling and meeting new people. Michael loved riding and collecting motorcycles! During the eighties, he was a member of the Soulful Riders MC.
Michael grew up in a Christian home and attended Sunday School at Clifton Baptist Church. Michael later dedicated his life to Christ and rejoined Clifton Baptist Church. Michael was a very caring and giving person to everyone. He was a loving and dedicated son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Maari Thompson. He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters: LaToya Brannen, Shanee (Chas) Hunt-Listenbee, LaTeashia Steed, Cassandra Thompson and Michele Thompson; son, Michael “Trevon” Thompson. His mother, Matilda Thompson; brothers, Larry (Brenda) Thompson and Ronald Thompson; sister, Loretta (John) Watkins; grandchildren, Tyler Marcus, Marie Listenbee, Jamari Wright, Jaela Listenbee, Chase Futch and Camille Steed.
A devoted and loving fiancé, Debra Knight; a special nephew, Greg (Arneshia)Wiley. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
