Mr. Michael Johnson, 63, had his transition on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Michael Johnson, Sr. will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Bethany Baptist Church.
Interment: Bonaventure Cemetery/Greenwich Section.
OBITUARY:
Mr. Michael Johnson Sr. was born on February 24, 1953 in Savannah, Ga to the late Mr. Mazo Anderson and Mrs. Jessie Mae Johnson Anderson. On October 1, 2016 Michael Johnson Sr. began his journey into eternal life surrounded by his loving family.
At an early age Michael attended Pilgrim Baptist Church in Savannah, Ga. Michael was a graduate of Tompkins High class of 1972. Immediately after graduating he joined the United States Marine Corps and fought for our country in Vietnam. Thereafter he was employed by the United States government for twenty five years. He retire from the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs of Charleston, South Carolina in 2015.
Michael had an array of personalities. In his words, he was “A MAN AMONG ALL MEN”. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies, as well as spending time with his loving family and friends. He had a heart of gold and would go above and beyond for those in need of his help. He was a firm believer of staying true to himself, by being himself, at all times. He was quite humorous and full of fun. He will truly be missed by many.
In additional to his father, Mr. Mazo Anderson, his sisters Linda Anderson Mitchell, Brenda Anderson Palmer and Beverly Bride, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving, devoted mother Mrs. Jessie Mae Johnson Anderson of Savannah, GA. Three Sons: Deon Gains of Clyo GA, Michael Johnson Jr. of Savannah GA, Michael Marion Johnson Sr. ( Toenice) of Savannah GA, Two Daughters: Krystal M. Johnson of Savannah GA and Amber Dailey of Atlanta, GA. Two Brothers: Anthony B. Johnson (Delores) of Savannah GA, Kelvin J. Butler of Savannah GA, Five sisters: Pamela Anderson of Savannah GA, Jacqueline J. Major (Carlton) of Pooler GA, Roberta Gordon (Harvest) of Savannah GA, Rose A. Mixson of Barnwell, SC and Edith Capers (Kenneth) of Islandton SC. Three Uncles: Samuel Johnson (Clem) of Savannah GA, Jim Johnson of Cross S.C., Charles Middleton of Savannah GA and a loving companion Alfreda Olin of Charleston S.C seven grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, and Best Friend Robert M. Small AKA (Moss).
