OBITUARY:

MARCANDRE ALEXANDRE WAS BORN ON MARCH 31, 1953 IN PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI. HE WAS ONE OF FIVE CHILDREN OF ANDRE JULES ALEXANDRE AND RAYMONDE ALEXANDRE (MILLS-MAIDEN NAME). HE MIGRATED TO THE U.S. ALONG WITH HIS MOTHER AND FOUR SIBLINGS ON NOVEMBER 25, 1960 IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK. HIS FATHER WORKED TIREDLESSLY TO ACHIEVE HIS DREAM OF HAVING HIS FAMILY BY HIS SIDE.

MARCANDRE ATTENDED P.S.119, LATER MOVED AND ATTENDED OUR LADY OF VICTORY, CATHOLIC SCHOOL WHERE HE GRADUATED. HE THEN ATTENDED ALEXANDER HAMILTON, H.S. AND RECEIVED HIS DIPLOMA. HE ENLISTED IN THE UNITED STATES ARMY RESERVE FOR TWELVE YEARS AND WAS RELEASED WITH AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE. A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER, HE RECEIVED EMPLOYMENT AT THE NEW YORK TELEPHONE COMPANY AS A TECHNICAL SPECIALIST.HE HELD THIS TENURE FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS.

MARCANDRE WAS A VERY GIVING AND LOVEABLE PERSON. A VERY VIBRANT MAN WHO WOULD GIVE YOU THE SHIRT OFF HIS BACK, IF NEEDED. HE NEVER SAID NO TO ANYONE. HE LIKED TO PLAY SPORTS (BASKETBALL AND HANDBALL), AND WAS VERY COMPETITIVE. EVERYTIME WE PLAYED, IT WAS A CONSTANT BATTLE. HE HATED TO LOSE, SO THEREFORE, HE DIDN'T PLAY FAIRLY.

NONETHELESS, I LOVED HIS COMPETITIVENESS. MARCANDRE WAS A SHARP DRESSER AND EXCELLENT DANCER. BACK IN THE DAY, HE LIKED THE DANCE,""THE HUSTLE""AND WAS GREAT AT DANCING IT. HE PARTICULARLY LIKED DANCING IT WITH HIS YOUNGEST SISTER, YVELINE, WHOM WAS NOT A LET DOWN

THEY USUALLY STOLED THE SPOTLIGHT AT PARTIES. HE WOULD SPICE AND HYPE UP A PARTY WITH HIS CRAZY SOUNDS THAT HE MADE, AND COOL DANCES. THE CROWD ALWAYS APPROVED AND FOLLOWED. HIS WITTY PERSONALITY WAS IMPECCABLE. PEOPLE WOULD LAUGHED SO HARD AT HIS JOKES THAT THEY WOULD TEAR UP. HE WAS THE LIFE OF THE PARTY

IN 2006, MARC-ANDRE MOVED TO NORTH CAROLINA, AND LATER MOVED TO SAVANNAH, GEORGIA. HE LIKED THE PEACEFUL, SLOW-PACED LIFESTYLE. HE STRUGGLED WITH HEALTH ISSUES, WHICH HE OVERCAME OVER THE YEARS. BUT ON AUGUST 3,2012, HE HAD A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT THAT ALTER HIS LIFE. BECAUSE OF HIS RESILIENCE, HE MANAGED TO SURVIVE
MUCH BEYOND THE DOCTORS EXPECTANCY.

MOST IMPORTANTLY HE FOUND CHRIST AND CHANGED PARTNERS. HE NEVER REALLY COMPLAINED AND WAS ALWAYS CONCERN ABOUT HIS FAMILY'S WELL BEING THROUGH ALL HIS PAINS AND SUFFERRING. HE FOUND COMFORT AND STRENGTH WITH COMMUNICATION WITH GOD

ON TUESDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 26, 2013, MARC-ANDRE ALEXANDRE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT HOME WITH HIS WIFE AT HIS BEDSIDE. HE WAS SIXTY YEARS OF AGE.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS BELOVED AND DEVOTED WIFE,CAROLYN ALEXANDRE,HIS SISTERS,MIREILLE PIERRE,MARIE-ANGE AUGUSTE,YVELINE MOYSE(YVES MOYSE JR-HUSBAND),HIS BROTHER,MARC-ARTHUR ALEXANDRE(AUDREY ALEXANDRE-WIFE)AND HALF SISTER,IMMACULA ALEXANDRE.

POEM:

""God Takes The Best""

God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face
He puts his arm around you and lifted you to rest
God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
He saw the roads was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.

So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered ""Peace be Thine""
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone
Cause parts of us went with you the day God called you home
