Adams announces the passing of Mr. Kenneth Smith Jr., 70, who transitioned on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Greenwich Cemetery.
Kenneth Smith, Jr., age 70, peacefully departed this world to rest in a heavenly place on June 18, 2024.
Born on December 9, 1953. Kenneth’s life was marked by remarkable achievements and unwavering
dedication.
Kenneth was educated in the Chatham County Public School system, he continued his education at
Armstrong State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. His
leadership skills shone brightly during his tenure as President of the Student Government, where he
tirelessly represented students at Armstrong Atlantic University. Kenneth also portrayed a pivotal role in
conducting College Union Board Meetings, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
Beyond academia, Kenneth’s passion for advocacy led him to serve as the President of the Ebony
Coalition. Through this role, he championed self-confidence and awareness, leaving an indelible impact
on those around him.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mrs. Arnita K. Jenkins, as well as his sister, Mrs.
Pamela K. Haley, and brother Mr. Michael A. Smith.
He is survived by his brother, Mr. Ricky D. Smith (Linda), and two devoted sisters, Mrs. Angela Frazier,
and Mrs. Gwendolyn Jones (Willis) , all of Savannah, Georgia. Additionally, Kenneth leaves behind two
aunts: Mrs. Ruby Walker of Savannah, Georgia, and Ms. Priscilla Knight of Chicago, ILL. His cousin Mr.
Keith Knight of Savannah, Georgia, held a special place in Kenneth’s heart, along with a host of nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
Kenneth will be remembered for his kindness, leadership, and unwavering commitment to making a
positive difference in the lives of others. May he rest in eternal peace.

Savannah, Georgia, 31406.
