Mr. Ivan Harris, affectionately known as "Neenie," was born on April 5, 1952, in Savannah, Georgia. He departed this life on March 12, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah following a short illness. A proud member of the Savannah community, Ivan's early years were marked by his attendance at A E Beach High School in Chatham County. His foundation in faith was fortified when he was baptized at an early age at St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church on Montgomery Street.

Throughout his life, Ivan dedicated himself to a successful career in construction, where his hard work and commitment earned him respect among colleagues and friends alike. He was a man of great character who valued the importance of family, community, and faith. Ivan enjoyed fishing and sports, hobbies that reflected his love for the outdoors and camaraderie with friends and family.

Ivan leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. He is survived by his siblings Nathaniel (Marilyn) Smalls, Levon (Stephanie) Smalls, and devoted sister Janice (Walter) Davis. His legacy continues through his children, Joseph D. (Thea) Williams Sr. of Kentucky, Ivan Harris Jr. of Savannah, Aaron Harris of Savannah, and Ivanny (Keith) Mobley of Savannah. He was a devoted grandfather to Thea J. Williams, Joseph D. Williams Jr., Keith Mobley Jr., and Christian Mobley. Additionally, he is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will remember him fondly.

Ivan was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Harris and Daisey Harris, his mother Mozelle Harris Smalls and father Lee Smalls, as well as his beloved wife, Margie Cooper Harris. His siblings Eddie Smalls, Isabelle Smalls, and Margaret Smalls (Brown), have all passed before him.

A viewing will be held in his honor on March 18, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Adams Funeral Services, located at 510 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, GA 31405. This will be followed by a funeral service, which will start at 11:00 AM and conclude at 12:30 PM on the same day.

Ivan Harris will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His unwavering dedication to those he loved, combined with the joy he derived from the simplest pleasures, will always be remembered.
